Paul Durrant is Director of Business Development at the University of Abertay Dundee, Paul provides strategic business development encompassing a wide range of activities including overseas business development, commercialisation of IP and contracts. Paul devised and developed the Alpha and GamesHub (2009) funding bids and integrated and led the two bids at the post-award stage to create a UK wide project supported by the Scottish Government and the UK Government (DCMS and BIS) in which business support for games development and skills development for the sector is provided through grant funding digital prototype development and work-for-hire students throughout the UK in real world skills development activities, on and off campus. He designed and secured in excess of £1m private and public funding for Embreonix a pioneering project involved the development of a new approach to supporting entrepreneurial students through the provision of pre incubation space and business support alongside the delivery of a Post Graduate Certificate in Enterprise Creation; and designed and secured in excess of £1m private and public funding for Embreonix a pioneering project which involved the development of a new approach to supporting entrepreneurial students through the provision of pre incubation space and business support alongside the delivery of a Post Graduate Certificate in Enterprise Creation.
